Product description
Domaine Vincent Delaporte Sancerre Rosé originates from France, within the Loire Valley region and the Sancerre subregion. The domain is an historic family enterprise nestled in the verdant hills of the village of Chavignol, where viticulture has been passed from father to son since the 17th century. Since 2010, the property has been guided by grandson Matthieu Delaporte, whose winemaking philosophy balances strict precision, environmental respect, and a desire to highlight individual terroirs.
Wine Description
This rosé wine displays a clear, rather light salmon or sparkly redcurrant appearance and possesses a medium-to-full body with a rounded mouthfeel. The sensory profile is elegant, clean, and forward, opening with an aromatic nose of fresh strawberries, raspberries, wild peach, and orange pith, accompanied by delicate floral scents. On the savory palate, it delivers a fine clarity and concentration, layering juicy cherry and grapefruit flavours with a smoky mineral lift and a light touch of white pepper. The finish is remarkably long and persistent, leaving lingering memories of citrus fruits, blackcurrants, and rubbed slate.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its structural harmony and layered complexity, achieved through direct whole cluster pressing and fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to keep the racy acidity fresh and crisp.
ABV: Typically recorded between 12.5% and 13%.
Organic Status: The vines are cultivated without herbicides using sustainable agriculture principles to safeguard the local ecosystem, and recent releases are officially certified organic.
Food Pairing
The vibrant acidity, subtle tannic frame, and deep mineral drive of this Sancerre make it an exceptional partner for a wide variety of gastronomical dishes.
Seafood: Pairs phenomenally well with grilled salmon fillets, seafood risotto, grilled lobster, and platters of fresh shellfish.
Light Fare: An ideal companion for a classic Salade Niçoise, delicatessen meats, fresh summer salads, and lightly spiced paella.
Cheese: Matches traditionally and beautifully with the local goat cheese of its home village, Crottin de Chavignol.
