Product description
Domaines Ott 'Etoile' Rose 2022 originates from France, within the Provence region and is classified under the Vin de France appellation. The domain was founded in 1896 by Alsatian agriculturalist Marcel Ott, who worked to restore vineyards following the phylloxera crisis. Today, the family legacy is integrated with the Louis Roederer House. The winemaking philosophy behind this prestige 'tête de cuvée' relies on a free composition that unifies and expresses the finest distinct attributes of the family's three properties: Chateau de Selle, Clos Mireille, and Chateau Romassan.
Wine Description
This rose wine presents a bright, pale pink or peach appearance with silver highlights and golden tints, possessing a sleek, medium-bodied, and all-enveloping structure. The sensory profile is highly complex, elegant, and intense, opening with a fresh nose of elderflowers, mango, peach, and raspberry, complemented by subtle nuances of vanilla and toasted almonds. On the smooth, broad, and polished palate, it delivers an iodized and pristine experience filled with grapefruit zest, exotic fruit, and white raspberry notes over a bed of crushed stone. The finish is long and well-balanced, leaving trailing memories of chalky minerality, sweet spice, and a fine hint of licorice.
Varietal Composition: A premium blend of 78% Grenache and 22% Mourvedre.
Stylistic Notes: The wine is celebrated for its incredible structural focus, tension, and rare aging capacity, remaining almost weightless while holding a lot of depth. To achieve maximum freshness and accentuate fruit purity, 25% of the cuvée is aged in unique spherical ceramic vats.
ABV: 13.5%.
Organic Status: Reflecting the careful viticulture across the select parcels, this wine is crafted entirely from organically grown grapes.
Food Pairing
The complex salinity, powerful structure, and refreshing acidity of this luxury rose make it an outstanding companion for high-end Mediterranean gastronomy.
Seafood: Pairs phenomenally well with fresh oysters, salmon crudo, grilled lobster, and tuna steaks, which beautifully elevate the wine's saline texture.
Hearty Fare: Suggested pairings include a rich coconut and lime fish curry or a classic spinach gratin.
Light Fare: An exceptional match for sautéed summer vegetables or delicate starters served during upscale occasions.
