Donnafugata is one of Italy's finest wineries, owned by the Rallo family, who have over a century of experience in the wine business. The name 'Ben Ryé' comes from the Arabic term for 'Son of the Wind,' a nod to the constant, fragrance-carrying winds that sweep the island's vineyards. Donnafugata is dedicated to 'heroic viticulture' on Pantelleria, a challenging yet rewarding practice involving working on terraced slopes supported by 40 km of drystone walls and cultivating vines in hollows using the traditional low bush vine alberello pantesco.

Brilliant amber, Ben Rye surprises with it freshness and complexity. The bouquet is intense and fragrant with aromas of apricots and candied citrus zest combined with balsamic scents of Mediterranean scrub and sweet notes of honey and fresh figs. The palate is well defined and intense, with pleasant sweetness well balanced by a fresh vein of acidity. It finishes with a lingering persistence.
