Dow's Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port 2013

Originating from Portugal in the famous Douro region, specifically within the heart of the Cima Corgo subregion, Dow's Quinta Do Bomfim 2013 represents a single Quinta expression of benchmark Port winemaking. Situated on the north bank of the Douro River near Pinhao, Quinta do Bomfim has been the centerpiece of Dow's winemaking since 1896. Owned and operated by Symington Family Estates, the property’s philosophy relies on sustainable viticulture, traditional stone lagar foot treading, and temperature controlled fermentation to produce single vineyard Ports that highlight the estate's distinct, intense microclimate.

Wine Description

The wine presents an intense, deep garnet purple colour in the glass. An expressive and concentrated bouquet opens with classic aromas of ripe cassis, wild blackberry, and dark plum, interwoven with distinct notes of eucalyptus, rockrose, dark chocolate, and subtle crushed stone. On the palate, it is full bodied, dense, and tightly wound, delivering rich layers of black fruits, licorice, and cocoa bean, balanced by a fine streak of fresh natural acidity and Dow's signature dry finish. Framed by a firm, muscular tannic structure and an undercurrent of flinty minerality, it concludes with a long, intense, and savory finish. Composed of a traditional blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Roriz.
