Dr H Thanisch Riesling Bernkasteler Graben GG 2022

From Germany's famed Mosel region, the Dr H Thanisch Bernkasteler Graben GG 2022 hails from a distinguished single vineyard nestled within the Bernkastel area. The estate, rooted in tradition and helmed by the Thanisch family for generations, is renowned for its unwavering commitment to showcasing the Mosel's expressive terroir through precise, elegant Rieslings.

This Grosses Gewächs (GG), or Grand Cru dry Riesling, pours a shimmering pale gold in the glass. It opens with lifted aromas of white peach, lemon zest, and crushed slate, underpinned by subtle floral notes and a hint of fresh herbs. The palate is laser-focused and precise, delivering a core of citrus and orchard fruit flavours wrapped in vibrant acidity and mineral tension. Medium-bodied with a dry profile, it concludes with a long, saline-inflected finish. Crafted entirely from Riesling, this wine reflects the cool elegance of the 2022 vintage and is best enjoyed from 2025 through 2035 for peak expression.
