Product description

Duckhorn Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 originates from the United States, within California's Napa Valley region and the distinguished Rutherford AVA subregion. Founded in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, Duckhorn Vineyards has established itself over five decades as a benchmark producer of premier Napa Valley wines. Released alongside other single-AVA bottlings to celebrate the winery's 50th-anniversary milestone, this wine showcases the unique terroir of Rutherford—famed for its gravelly, alluvial soils that impart a signature dusty minerality and exceptional structure to Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine Description

This red wine displays a deep, dark plum to dark ruby colour. The nose is complex and fragrant, offering aromas of blueberry, blackberry, and fig alongside floral violet notes, dark chocolate, sweet spice, potpourri, and a touch of ferric earth and pencil shavings. On the palate, it exhibits a full body with fine-grained, velvety tannins and bright acidity, underscored by Rutherford's characteristic signature dusty minerality. Stylistically, the wine is well-balanced, generous, and fruit-driven, leading to a long, supple finish accented by mild oak spice and dark fruit complexity.

  • Varietal composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
