The Elvio Cogno winery has been cultivating grapes in the heart of the Langhe since 1936, though the modern estate was famously established by Elvio Cogno in 1990 to focus on high-quality crus. The family's winemaking philosophy centres on a low-intervention approach that respects the local ecosystem and highlights the specific terroir of their one-hectare 'Mandorlo' (Almond) parcel.

The Elvio Cogno Dolcetto d'Alba Il Mandorlo presents an intense ruby red colour with distinct violet reflections. The bouquet is rich and expressive, bursting with aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry, and plum, underpinned by delicate notes of violet, herbal spices, and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious, offering a refreshing tension with flavours of juicy dark fruit and sweet spices. It is characterized by its elegant, well-integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish that features a classic, slightly bitter almond note.
