Product description
Espolòn Reposado Tequila is a popular, high-value aged spirit originating from the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco, Mexico. Crafted at the Destilería San Nicolás (NOM 1440) in Arandas, the brand was created in 1996 by late Master Distiller Cirilo Oropeza. Now under the ownership of Campari Group, Espolòn is widely recognized for its artistic bottle labels featuring Posada-inspired skeletal art that pays tribute to Mexican history and culture, paired with an accessible, high-quality liquid.
2. Spirit Description
Espolòn Reposado is produced from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from high-altitude fields in Los Altos. The agaves are slow-cooked in autoclaves, extracted via roller mill, and double-distilled using a combination of column and copper pot stills to balance bright fruit flavors with earthy depth. The spirit matures for 2 to 5 months in light-to-medium toasted American oak barrels before bottling.
Colour: Pale straw gold with warm caramel highlights.
Aroma: Inviting and sweet, opening with cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel fudge, layered alongside tropical fruit, mild oak, and subtle baking spices.
Palate: Smooth, rounded, and approachable on the entry. Upfront flavors of roasted agave, butterscotch, and sweet vanilla give way to ripe plantain, light citrus peel, and warm oak spice.
Body: Medium-bodied with a soft, creamy, and easy-drinking texture.
Finish: Clean, warm, and medium in length, tapering off with lingering caramelized sugar, soft oak, black pepper, and a faint touch of spice.
ABV: Bottled at 40% (80 Proof).
