Product description

This fragrant white wine originates from Italy, crafted in the Terre Siciliane appellation within the sun-drenched island region of Sicily. Produced by the Fondo Antico winery located near Trapani, the estate treats their vineyards with exceptional craftsmanship to showcase the unique qualities of native varieties. The winery focuses on a winemaking philosophy that captures the true essence of Sicily, aiming to offer an accessible and captivating glass of wine suitable for any occasion and every season.

Wine Description

  • Colour: Pale straw yellow adorned with clear, delicate greenish reflections.

  • Aroma: Highly expressive and aromatic on the nose, delivering vibrant scents of bitter orange, bergamot, and cedar, beautifully laced with floral notes of orange blossom, jasmine, and rosehip.

  • Palate: The palate mirrors its aromatic profile with accuracy, offering a flavorful and full sip that balances its distinct citrus notes with a deep, maritime sapidity and hints of green apple and fresh mint.

  • Body: Well-structured medium body with a highly pleasing presence.

  • Finish: A crisp, clean, and elegant finish driven by its inherent floral charm and balanced acidity.

  • Varietal Composition: 100% Zibibbo, an indigenous aromatic grape variety grown at an altitude of 70 metres above sea level in clay-loam soils.

  • Stylistic Notes: Strikingly fresh and balanced, this wine undergoes gentle pressing and oxygen-free cryomaceration in stainless steel tanks, followed by four to five months of aging on the fine lees with regular bâtonnage to acquire its sophisticated texture.

  • Alcohol by Volume: 12.5%

  • Organic Status: Not certified organic, though some vintages are grown utilizing organic farming practices in the vineyard.

Food Pairing

  • Excellent as an informal aperitif alongside toasted almonds, potato crisps, or rich salads.

  • Ideal partner for raw seafood selections, including fresh sushi and sashimi.

  • Pairs wonderfully with grilled shellfish, cold plates, and delicate fish dishes.
