Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 2022 - 1.5 Litre Bottle

The 'Flaccianello della Pieve' hails from the Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT in the Tuscany region of Italy. Fontodi is a certified organic estate, comprising 130 hectares with about 70 planted to vines. The Manetti family, prominent in Chianti for centuries and originally known for terracotta production, owns the winery. Winemaker Giovanni Manetti has led Fontodi, focusing on biodynamic principles to achieve self-sufficiency and respect for nature in their agriculture.

Wine Description

This single varietal wine is composed of 100% Sangiovese. It presents a rich, deep dark ruby red colour. The complex sensory profile includes aromas of plums, black cherries, fresh violets, and licorice, with touches of leather and graphite. On the palate, this full-bodied wine displays a well-tamed, structured profile with firm tannins coated in fruit and chewy acidity that maintains a fresh and balanced finish.
