More Information
Product description
This Syrah hails from France, specifically from the renowned Northern Rhône Valley in the Saint-Joseph appellation. Francois Villard, initially a chef, turned to winemaking in the late 1980s and quickly gained acclaim for his meticulous vineyard work and expressive wines. His estate, established in Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône, is celebrated for its commitment to organic practices and showcasing the terroir of granite-rich hillsides.
Wine Description
The 2021 Seul En Scene is 100% Syrah. In the glass, it presents a deep ruby-purple hue. The nose opens with aromas of blackberries, cassis, violets, cracked pepper, and a subtle hint of smoked meats. On the palate, it is medium-bodied yet vibrant, offering layers of dark fruit, olive tapenade, and graphite. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity give it a lively structure, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish.
