Product description
Italy’s Piedmont region, specifically the renowned Barolo DOCG in the commune of Verduno, is home to Fratelli Alessandria. A family-run estate since the mid-19th century, the winery is known for its traditional approach and unwavering commitment to showcasing terroir. Their prized Monvigliero vineyard, often dubbed the “grand cru” of Verduno, yields some of the most elegant and perfumed Barolos in the appellation.
Wine Description
This 2020 Barolo from the Monvigliero cru presents a luminous ruby hue that foreshadows its finesse. On the nose, it offers an expressive bouquet of rose petals, red cherry, wild herbs, and hints of anise and white pepper. The palate is vibrant and layered, displaying a silky texture with flavours of raspberry, pomegranate, tobacco, and earthy minerality. A medium to full-bodied structure is underpinned by fine-grained tannins and a lingering, ethereal finish. Made entirely from Nebbiolo, this wine is best enjoyed between 2026 and 2042. Its refined character and aromatic clarity speak to both vineyard pedigree and the deft hand of the winemaker.
