Product description

This structured and 'aristocratic' red wine originates from Italy, within the esteemed Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. appellation of Tuscany (specifically the San Casciano in Val di Pesa sub-zone). Produced by the historic Castello di Gabbiano estate whose winemaking heritage in the heart of Chianti Classico dates back to 1124 "Bellezza" represents the top tier of the region's quality pyramid as a Gran Selezione. Sourced entirely from a single, prized 12-hectare vineyard plot (Vigna Bellezza), the vines are rooted in stony, well-draining soils composed of calcareous marl (galestro) and clay-limestone (alberese). Positioned at an elevation that captures generous daylight balanced by cool nightly breezes off the Tuscan hills, this singular site yields low quantities of concentrated Sangiovese with exceptional phenolic maturity, structural tension, and age-worthy minerality.

Wine Description

Castello di Gabbiano "Bellezza" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione presents an intense, deep ruby-garnet color in the glass with subtle brick shimmers along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, offering an expressive single-vineyard portrayal of classic northern Tuscan terroir. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of ripe red cherries, dark plums, and wild strawberries, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of sweet pipe tobacco, leather, dried lavender, ground spices, and a distinct whiff of flint and crushed stone minerality. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, compact, and precisely focused, delivering a succulent core of red stone fruits, blood orange zest, and cocoa. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and a lively, mouthwatering vein of natural acidity that effortlessly elevates its mid-palate density. The mouthfeel is broad yet athletic, framed by firm, fine-grained, and chalky tannins that glide into a long, dry, and savory finish accented by persistent notes of cedar, dried herbs, and earth.
