Product description
Hailing from Uruguay, this exceptional Tannat comes from the Garzón region in Maldonado, situated just a few kilometres from the Atlantic coast. Bodega Garzón, owned by Argentine businessman Alejandro Bulgheroni, is celebrated for pioneering sustainable viticulture in Uruguay, with its impressive hillside vineyards and state-of-the-art, LEED-certified winery. The estate is a beacon for precision viticulture, producing expressive wines that reflect the unique coastal terroir.
Wine Description
This single-vineyard Tannat showcases a deep ruby colour with vibrant purple hues. The nose offers an alluring bouquet of blackberries, plums, and violets, underpinned by subtle notes of graphite, spice, and freshly ground coffee. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet remarkably refined, with layers of dark fruit, liquorice, and mineral nuances wrapped in polished tannins. The wine carries impressive structure and balance, culminating in a long, savoury finish with echoes of dark chocolate and crushed stones.
Food Pairing
Pair this robust Tannat with grilled ribeye steak, braised short ribs, or aged Manchego cheese. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character, creating a memorable dining experience.
