Product description

Gérard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir is a premium, high-altitude expression from one of the most respected estates in the Languedoc’s Haute Vallée de l'Aude. Located near the village of Roquetaillade at the foothills of the Pyrenees, this estate sits between 250 and 500 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest vineyard sites in the region. The cool, oceanic-influenced climate mimics the conditions of Burgundy, allowing Pinot Noir to ripen slowly while retaining its signature acidity.

Wine Description

It presents a brilliant ruby-red color with delicate copper highlights. On the nose, it is highly expressive and fragrant, leading with intense aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, and redcurrants, layered with subtle notes of toasted oak and violets. The palate is medium-bodied and elegant, offering a juicy attack of cool-climate plums and cherries dusted with white pepper and wild herbs. The texture is silky and refined, featuring fine-grained tannins and a well-integrated structure from nine months of aging in French oak barrels. The finish is long, fresh, and slightly mineral, with a savory touch of grilled meat and spice. It typically contains around 14% to 14.5% ABV.
