Operating under an uncompromising, low-intervention, and organic-leaning philosophy, Colombo is celebrated for capturing raw terroir expression and varietal identity without heavy extraction or maskings of new oak. Sourced from choice, low-yielding old vineyards in the communes of Roddi and Verduno, the vines are rooted in Tortonian soils composed of calcareous marl, limestone, and sand. Gian Luca Colombo-Segni di Langa Barolo presents a luminous, pale garnet-ruby color in the glass with light brick and terracotta highlights along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering an artisanal, highly transparent expression of classic Langhe Nebbiolo. The bouquet opens with a captivating, multi-faceted display of wild sour cherries, fresh cranberries, and crushed raspberries, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of dried rose petals, violet perfume, orange peel, sweet pipe tobacco, star anise, crushed limestone, and a signature line of tar and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied, taut, and precisely focused, showcasing a succulent core of red stone fruits, blood orange zest, and cocoa. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts through the mid-palate extract.
