Product description

This single cask Scotch whisky originates from Scotland, produced in the Highland region. Crafted at the historic GlenDronach Distillery—founded in 1826 near Forgue in Aberdeenshire—the distillery is renowned for its mastery of sherry cask maturation. Distilled in 1993, this expression spent 28 long years maturing exclusively in a single Oloroso sherry puncheon (Cask #4193) before being hand-selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie for the distillery's prestigious Cask Bottling batch releases.

Spirit Description

This single malt presents a deep, dark mahogany hue with rich walnut highlights in the glass. The nose is extraordinarily opulent and dark, opening with aromas of stewed damson plums, dark fruitcake, espresso, and pipe tobacco, supported by toasted walnuts, polished oak, and rich Oloroso sherry influence. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dense, and velvety, delivering rich flavours of dark chocolate truffles, marzipan, black cherry preserve, and sweet treacle, balanced by seasoned oak spice, clove, and a touch of leather. The finish is exceptionally long, warm, and lingering, leaving a deep impression of dried fruit, cocoa, and sweet sherry woodiness. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 51% ABV without chill-filtration or added caramel coloring, it exhibits supreme depth, concentration, and sherry oak integration.
