Product description
Glenfiddich 14 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Speyside, Scotland. Owned by William Grant & Sons, Glenfiddich is one of the world's most famous single malt distilleries. Created by Master Malt Distiller Brian Kinsman, this expression pays homage to the historic relationship between Scotch whisky and American bourbon making, pairing traditional Speyside orchard fruit with rich, charred American oak sweetness.
Spirit Description
Glenfiddich 14 Year Old begins with Glenfiddich's classic Speyside single malt distillate, produced using malted barley and pure water from the Robbie Dhu spring, distilled in small copper pot stills. The spirit is aged for 14 full years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. Following this primary maturation, the whisky undergoes a signature finishing period in deep-charred new American oak barrels supplied by the Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. This secondary aging in heavily charred virgin American oak infuses the Scotch with vibrant bourbon-style notes of vanilla, caramel, and warm oak spice.
Colour: Rich golden amber with bright bronze highlights.
Aroma: Intensely sweet and wood-forward, opening with rich vanilla bean, butterscotch, and toasted oak, followed by ripe Speyside green apple, pear, summer berries, and warm baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: Smooth, rich, and full-flavored on the entry. Upfront flavors of sweet caramel, vanilla cream, and woody spice blend seamlessly into notes of ripe pear, candied orange peel, toasted almonds, and subtle charred oak.
Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a creamy, velvety, and mouth-coating texture.
Finish: Long, warm, and lingering, trailing off with persistent sweet oak tannins, vanilla, subtle peppery spice, and a crisp, dry fruitiness.
ABV: Bottled at 43% ABV (86 Proof).
