Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an iconic Speyside expression produced by Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Banffshire, Scotland. Owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillery made whisky history in 1998 when Fifth Master Malt Distiller David Stewart introduced the pioneering Solera process to Scotch single malts. Inspired by the traditional sherry bodegas of Spain, Glenfiddich matures three distinct cask styles before blending them in a massive, handcrafted Oregon pine Solera Vat. The vat has remained at least half full since 1998, ensuring a continuous, multi-layered depth of flavor that defines this globally celebrated whisky.

Spirit Description

Glenfiddich 15 Year Old is crafted using single malt distillate made from 100% malted barley and spring water from the Robbie Dhu spring, distilled in small copper pot stills. The spirit is aged separately for at least 15 years in three types of oak casks: European oak ex-sherry casks, American oak ex-bourbon casks, and new virgin American oak barrels. The aged liquids are then married in the 35,000-liter Solera Vat, where they harmonize and continuously absorb the mature depth of previous batches. Finally, the whisky is settled in smaller Portuguese oak Solera Tun barrels prior to bottling, resulting in a rich, warm, and dark-fruit-forward profile.

• Colour: Golden amber with warm ruby and reddish highlights.

• Aroma: Intensely fragrant and complex, opening with sweet honey, vanilla fudge, and dark dried fruits (raisins, figs, and dates), complemented by marzipan, cinnamon, and subtle toasted oak.

• Palate: Silky, smooth, and full-flavored on the entry. Upfront notes of sherry-soaked raisins, dark plum, and candied orange peel yield to sweet honey, baking spices (clove and nutmeg), dark chocolate, and a rich wood depth.

• Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a velvety, rounded, and mouth-coating viscosity.

• Finish: Long, warm, and comforting, trailing off with persistent sweet sherry, dark fruit cake, gentle spice, and a dry oak warmth.

• ABV: Bottled at 40% ABV (80 Proof).
