Spirit Description

Glenfiddich Gran Reserva is crafted from 100% malted barley distilled through the distillery's signature small copper pot stills and matured for 21 years in a combination of traditional American ex-bourbon oak and European ex-sherry casks. Master Malt Blender Brian Kinsman then transfers the 21-year-old liquid into barrels previously used to age Caribbean rum for a secondary maturation period of approximately four months. This finishing step layers rich tropical fruits, warm brown spices, and molasses sweetness onto the spirit's delicate orchard-fruit foundation.

• Colour: Rich dark gold with deep amber glints.

• Aroma: Intense, sweet, and highly aromatic. The nose opens with sweet vanilla, rich toffee, and ripe tropical fruits (banana, mango, and fig), backed by floral undertones, fresh lime zest, new leather, and toasted oak.

• Palate: Soft and silky on the entry, quickly becoming vibrant, warming, and complex. Upfront flavors of buttery toffee, vanilla bean, and baked orchard fruits yield to candied orange peel, ginger snaps, ripe papaya, dried figs, and warm cinnamon spice.

• Body: Medium-to-full-bodied with a smooth, velvety, and rounded texture.

• Finish: Long, warming, and elegant, trailing off with dry wood spices, ginger, toasted coconut, caramelized sugar, and a lingering citrus peel brightness.
