Product description

Originating from Portugal in the famous Douro region, specifically within the rugged Cima Corgo subregion, Graham's 80 Year Old Tawny Port represents an extraordinarily rare, masterfully aged expression of wood-matured Port winemaking. Founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham, the house of Graham's is renowned for its rich, complex aged tawnies, today managed by Symington Family Estates. Sourced from flagship estates including Quinta dos Malvedos and Quinta das Lages, the winemaking philosophy relies on generations of cooperage tradition and patient cask maturation in cool coastal lodges to craft aged tawnies of profound depth and historic character.

Wine Description

The wine presents a deep mahogany copper colour with luminous amber and pale green reflections along the rim. An extraordinary and complex bouquet opens with intense aromas of dried fig, fruitcake, and orange marmalade, interwoven with rich notes of roasted walnut, dark caramel, pipe tobacco, espresso, and exotic baking spices. On the palate, it is full bodied, luxurious, and deeply concentrated, delivering a velvety, mouth-coating texture packed with flavours of honeyed fruit, dark molasses, and cocoa, all balanced by a core of energetic natural acidity. Framed by a rich, viscous mouthfeel gained from eight decades of slow cask oxidation, it concludes with an remarkably long, persistent, and harmonious finish. Composed of a traditional blend of native Douro grape varieties including Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca, this rare release offers an optimal drinking window of 2026–2040. Stylistically, it combines profound oxidative depth and wood richness with incredible fresh vitality.
