Product description

Originating from Portugal in the famous Douro region, specifically within the rugged Cima Corgo subregion, Graham's Vintage Port 1994 represents an iconic, legendary expression from one of the greatest Vintage Port declarations of the twentieth century. Founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham, the house of Graham's has long been celebrated for producing rich, generous, and long-lived Vintage Ports. Owned and operated by Symington Family Estates, the estate’s winemaking philosophy relies on hand-harvesting old vine plots from flagship properties including Quinta dos Malvedos and Quinta das Lages, utilizing traditional stone lagar foot treading to produce muscular, deeply concentrated wines built for decades of bottle maturation.

Wine Description

The wine presents a deep, dark ruby garnet colour with subtle tawny orange reflections along the rim. An extraordinary and complex bouquet opens with rich aromas of dark plum, cassis, and dried fig, interwoven with sophisticated notes of dark chocolate, eucalyptus, roasted coffee, pipe tobacco, and exotic baking spices. On the palate, it is full bodied, opulent, and deeply layered, delivering a velvety, mouth-coating texture packed with concentrated flavours of black cherry, prune, and dark cocoa supported by a spine of vibrant natural acidity. Framed by mature, smooth, yet powerful tannins and a firm mineral backbone, it concludes with an extraordinarily long, rich, and harmonious finish. Composed of a classic Douro blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Roriz, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2024–2050+. Stylistically, it combines Graham’s signature opulent sweetness and dark fruit concentration with magnificent structural elegance and mature tertiary complexity.
