Product description

Originating from Portugal in the famous Douro region, specifically within the rugged Cima Corgo subregion, Graham's Vintage Port 'Library Release' 2003 represents a classic, cellared expression from an iconic, heat-driven vintage. Founded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham, the house is owned and operated by Symington Family Estates. The winery's philosophy centers on sourcing fruit from flagship estates including Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta das Lages, and Quinta do Tua, utilizing stone lagar foot treading to produce lush, powerful Vintage Ports that are held in optimal cellar conditions for late 'Library' releases to showcase mature tertiary complexity.

Wine Description

The wine presents a dark ruby garnet colour with subtle tawny reflections along the rim. An expressive and concentrated bouquet opens with rich aromas of baked black cherry, dark plum, and fig paste, interwoven with sophisticated notes of dark chocolate, licorice, eucalyptus, roasted coffee, and warm baking spices. On the palate, it is full bodied, voluptuous, and deeply layered, delivering a mouth-coating texture packed with sweet black fruit, cocoa bean, and molasses, all supported by a underlying core of natural acidity. Framed by mature, smooth, yet powerful tannins and a firm schist backbone, it concludes with a long, warm, and persistent finish. Composed of a classic Douro blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Roriz, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2024–2045+. Stylistically, it effortlessly combines Graham's signature opulent sweetness and dark fruit concentration with mature, seamless balance.
