Product description
The Gut Oggau winery, founded in 2007 by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe, meticulously restored a 17th-century winery in the small town of Oggau after it had been abandoned for twenty years. The winery’s immediate transition to biodynamic farming was enabled by the two decades of neglect, which allowed all previous chemicals and pesticides to wash away from the vines.
Wine Description
The wine is a dry, light-bodied rosé that offers a full-bodied, smooth, and juicy texture. The sensory profile includes notes of forgotten watermelon, rosy reduction, tart cranberry, just-ripe strawberries, and herbaceous glimpses with a mineral spark. There is a touch of savoury spice, allspice, and a mineral undertone, which results in a charming and refreshing drink.
Food Pairing
This smooth, full-bodied rosé pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes including roast white meats, meaty fish, fresh seafood, and light salads.
