Product description
Introduction
Hakkaisan Yoroshiku Senman Arubeshi Kasutori Shochu is a type of shochu (a distilled spirit) from Japan. It is produced by Hakkaisan Brewery Co. Ltd., a highly regarded brewery founded in 1922 in Niigata Prefecture, which is known for its clean and precise sake. The name 'Yoroshiku Senman Arubeshi' is an old phrase from China meaning 'unlimited fortune'. This particular shochu is a Kasutori type, meaning it is distilled from sake lees (kasu), a by-product of sake production. The brewery applies its premium sake-making craftsmanship to its shochu production.
Shochu Description
This shochu is 100% distilled from only fresh sake lees produced from making Hakkaisan's premium sakes. It is a luxurious, rich-tasting spirit that is matured and mellowed for over three years.
The spirit is distilled through a low-pressure distillation method (reduced-pressure distillation). This technique is typically used to capture delicate aromas. The resulting shochu has a good combination of rich and mellow tastes. It features an aroma and delicate fragrance that is characteristic of Japanese sake. The sensory profile includes perfumed aromas of lychee and pear with a herbal undertone. The palate is earthy and leads to a lingering, creamy, and balanced finish. The ABV (alcohol by volume) is 40%.
