Product description
The Hakushu 12 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky originates from the Yamanashi prefecture in Japan. Nestled deep within the mountain forests of the Japanese Southern Alps at the foot of Mount Kaikomagatake, Hakushu is famously known as Suntory's 'mountain forest distillery'. Founded in 1973 by Keizo Saji, the second master blender of House of Suntory, the distillery's winemaking-like philosophy focuses on using soft, crisp alpine waters and a unique cool climate to mature whiskies more slowly, creating a signature green and fresh character.
Spirit Description
This single malt displays a bright champagne gold colour. The nose is remarkably fresh and lively, revealing vibrant aromas of green apple, pear, and basil, underscored by pine needles, fresh mint, and a delicate touch of vanilla. On the palate, it is medium bodied and creamy, featuring a sweet entry of kiwi, sweet pear, and candied herbs transitioning smoothly into malty grain and gentle oak spice. Bottled at 43% ABV, this 100% malted barley expression concludes with a clean, dry, and crisp finish accented by green tea and a very subtle hint of smoke.
