Hitachino Nest White Ale is a celebrated craft beer originating from the Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan. It is produced by Kiuchi Brewery, a historic establishment founded in 1823 by Gihei Kiuchi that originally focused exclusively on sake production for over 170 years. The brewery ventured into craft beer in 1996 following changes to Japanese brewing laws, combining traditional sake brewing expertise with global influences to create its signature owl branded ales.

Beer Description

This Belgian style witbier presents a light golden and hazy appearance in the glass. The sensory profile features a fresh, complex aroma of orange and citrus integrated with coriander and nutmeg. On the palate, it delivers a soft and flavourful taste with a sweet-fruity-tart character and a mild acidity produced by the wheat malt. The body is light and creamy with a refreshing, mildly hopped finish that includes notes of spicy clove and ginger. The varietal composition includes Pilsner and wheat malts, hopped with Perle and Styrian Goldings, and uniquely flavoured with orange juice, orange peel, coriander, and nutmeg. It has an ABV of 5.5%.
