Product description

Hundred Acre is located in the United States, within California's Napa Valley and the specific subregion of Howell Mountain. Founded in 2000 by Canadian investment banker Jayson Woodbridge, the winery is known for its meticulous, 'berry by berry' harvesting process and a philosophy of complete estate ownership that allows for total creative freedom. Woodbridge, an autodidact in winemaking, manages the estate alongside his wife Helen Mawson, focusing on producing iconic Cabernet Sauvignon from unique volcanic terroirs.

Wine Description

The Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard presents a deep garnet-black colour, opening with a provocative sensory profile of baked black cherries, plum preserves, and crème de cassis. On the palate, this full bodied wine is rich and spicy, supported by a rock-solid backbone of grainy tannins and lively acidity that leads to a long, exotic finish. Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it displays complex notes of black truffles, Chinese five spice, and earthy forest floor.

Accolades

  • "Wine Advocate - 98 points."

  • "Jeb Dunnuck - 99 points."

Food Pairing

This bold and structured Cabernet Sauvignon pairs exceptionally well with premium cuts of steak, rich game dishes such as venison, or artisan cheeses. The wine's intense fruit and spicy undertones complement the savoury depth of slow-roasted meats.
