Product description
This structured and 'crystalline' white wine originates from the United States, within the prestigious Napa Valley A.V.A. (specifically incorporating high-elevation and cool-climate sub-appellations such as Mount Veeder and Los Carneros). Produced under the exclusive Iconoclast label crafted by Chimney Rock's acclaimed winemaking team this bottling was created to challenge conventional style norms by balancing modern California richness with European structural tension. Sourced from choice vineyard blocks featuring well-draining volcanic tufa, gravelly loam, and clay soils, the vines benefit from sunny, high-altitude exposure tempered by cool maritime fog rolling off San Pablo Bay. This unique microclimate allows the Chardonnay grapes to undergo a long, gradual ripening season, accumulating intense tropical citrus concentration while locking in a crisp, mouthwatering natural acidity.
Wine Description
Iconoclast Chardonnay presents a luminous, bright straw-gold color in the glass with shimmering chartreuse reflections. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering a refined, balanced, and precise expression of Napa Valley Chardonnay. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of green apple, crisp Golden Delicious, Meyer lemon, and white peach, seamlessly layered with delicate underlays of toasted hazelnut, lemon curd, orange blossom, warm brioche, and a touch of crushed limestone minerality. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of orchard stone fruits, citrus oils, and subtle vanilla spice. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly elevates its mid-palate density. The mouthfeel is creamy yet weightless and supple, carrying into a long, dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by lingering notes of lemon peel, roasted nuts, and subtle French oak spice.
