Ironstone Petite Sirah 2019
The Kautz Family grows these Petite Sirah grapes at their Teichert Ranch vineyard in the Sloughouse sub-appellation of the Lodi AVA. These soils contain large stones throughout, however, are well-drained and ideal for growing world-class wine grapes.
Their Petite Sirah is a must try for lovers of bold & flavorful reds. Succulent & rich, its deep purple color leads way to bold aromas of warm berry pie and loads of blueberry mixed with vanilla and a light pepper spice. Full flavors of lush berries mixed with dark chocolate, warm cedar, and vanilla give way to a delightfully smooth finish with moderate tannins. 90% Petite Sirah, 10% Zinfandel
This Petite Sirah is a perfect companion with dishes like veal saltimbocca or braised beef with winter vegetables. Any dish with mushrooms is sure to be a palate pleaser.
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast A seductive, spicy complexity lifts this full-bodied and richly saturated wine. It shows alluring aromas of cinnamon and cedar followed by deep blackberry and blueberry flavors and lush, melted tannins. Best through 2030.
