Product description

Jasci & Marchesani is a family-owned winery located in Monteodorisio, within the Abruzzo region of Italy. The estate has a rich history of producing organic wines, with a commitment to sustainable viticulture and respect for the environment. Their vineyards are situated at an altitude of 190 meters above sea level, benefiting from optimal sun exposure and soil composition, which contribute to the distinctive character of their wines.

2021 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 'Nerubè'

The 2021 'Nerubè' is crafted from 100% Montepulciano grapes, showcasing the varietal's depth and complexity. This wine exhibits an intense ruby red color, indicative of its concentration. On the nose, it offers typical fruity and spicy aromas, with prominent notes of ripe blackberries and black cherries, complemented by undertones of soil, salt, pepper, and smoke.

The palate is full-bodied, revealing flavors of fruit preserved in alcohol and chocolate, with a smoky character. Chalky, clingy tannins provide texture, leading to a lingering finish. The wine has an alcohol content of 14% and undergoes 12 months of aging in oak tonneaux, enhancing its structure and complexity.

Food Pairing

This robust wine pairs excellently with traditional dishes, roasted meats, and aged cheeses. Serving it alongside a hearty beef stew or a selection of mature cheeses will enhance the wine's rich flavors and create a memorable dining experience.

Accolades

  • Wine Enthusiast: 89 Points. "The nose is savory yet piercing, as aromas of tart blackberries and black cherries mingle with weightier notes of soil, salt, pepper, and smoke. The palate is sweet with berries, but still smoky, while chalky, clingy tannins provide texture."
