Product description
Introduction
This white wine is from France, produced in the Languedoc Roussillon region within the Pays d'Oc or Côtes de Gascogne designations. The Château de Jau, which produces the 'Le Jaja de Jau' label, was originally founded in the 12th century by Cistercian monks. Since 1974, the estate has been the residence of the Dauré family, who have restored the property to showcase its diverse history and noble appearance. The 'Jaja' range is designed to be a fun, youthful, and uncomplicated 'everyday wine' that leverages the historical winemaking expertise of the premier estate.
Wine Description
Le Jaja de Jau Sauvignon Blanc displays a bright lime-yellow or lemon-green colour. The nose is intense and aromatic, offering scents of white flowers, grapefruit, citrus, and hawthorn, often accented by notes of fresh cut grass or green herbs. On the palate, it is light to medium bodied and exceptionally crisp, featuring flavours of lime, green apple, and honeyed grapefruit. It is characterized by its zesty acidity, a mouthwatering 'lip-smacking' attack, and a clean, refreshing finish with mineral or sea salt undertones. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is typically fermented in stainless steel for six months to maintain its freshness and sees no wood aging. The ABV generally ranges between 11% and 13%, and it is produced using sustainable farming practices. Its optimal drinking window is immediate, usually within one to two years of the vintage.
