Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc 2019
#21 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2020
The 2019 Joel Gott California Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of pineapple, mango and peach with citrus notes. On the palate, the wine opens with ripe, tropical fruit flavors followed by crisp, refreshing acidity on the mid-palate and a long, clean, balanced finish. Sourced from vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Lake County. To preserve the wine’s fruit and natural acidity, the wine underwent a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
92 Points - Wine Spectator The lemon blossom, Asian pear, lime sherbet and candied orange peel notes are pure, fragrant, silky smooth and juicy, with intensity and a lift of freshness on the finish from a lemon verbena accent. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
92 Points - Natalie Maclean Joel Gott 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is so pretty on the nose with guava, gooseberry, lemongrass and lemon-lime zest aromas. Very enticing on the palate, this SB is bone-dry with citrus florals, lime zest, gooseberry, dried fine herbs and lemongrass flavours on the palate. Chill and enjoy with halibut ceviche.
92 Points - Tasting Panel Vineyards across California influence this stunning white: From Monterey, Lake, Napa, and Sonoma counties to the warm Happy Canyon AVA of Santa Barbara, all have a hand in its citrus notes, minerality, vibrancy, and depth of character. Tropical aromas of kiwi meld with the varietally iconic scent of white grapefruit as jasmine weaves through sweet notes of pine nuts. Flavors of ripe pineapple and lemon custard impart texture, while acidity contributes to a dignified presence.
