Produced by legendary winemaker John Duval former Chief Winemaker at Penfolds who spent 16 years guiding the iconic Grange the Concilio label represents a modern, elegant evolution of classic Barossa Shiraz. Sourced from choice old-vine plots across the Eden Valley and Barossa Valley sub-regions, the vines are rooted in ancient, nutrient-poor soils composed of ironstone, clay, and sandy loam over limestone subsoils. The microclimate combines warm Mediterranean sunshine on the valley floor with cool evening winds sweeping down from the higher-elevation Eden Valley hills. This daily temperature shift slows grape maturation, allowing Shiraz to develop intense dark-berry pigments, fine structural tannins, and a remarkably vibrant, mouthwatering natural acidity.
