Product description
This blended Scotch whisky originates from Scotland, crafted under the direction of Johnnie Walker Master Blender Emma Walker. Created as a collector's release celebrating the Lunar New Year 2027 (Year of the Goat/Sheep), this limited edition showcases the classic Johnnie Walker Blue Label blend within custom, four-panel bespoke artwork. Blended using rare whiskies drawn from Diageo's vast inventory—including ghost distillery stocks like Port Ellen and Brora along with mature Speyside and Highland malts—only 1 in 10,000 casks are selected for its construction. Bottled in an elongated blue-tinted glass decanter, it marries luxury Scotch whisky blending with traditional East Asian zodiac iconography.
Spirit Description
This blended Scotch displays a deep amber-gold hue with bright copper highlights in the glass. On the nose, it is smooth, complex, and harmonious, opening with aromas of dried apricots, honeyed malt, and candied orange peel, underlaid by toasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate, and a delicate whisper of aromatic peat smoke. On the palate, it feels extraordinarily silky, velvety, and well-rounded, delivering initial layers of kumquat, sweet vanilla, and poached pears, which seamlessly expand into dark raisins, baking spices, and charred oak. The finish is remarkably long, smooth, and warming, trailing off with lingering notes of dried fruit, soft cocoa, gentle sea salt, and a subtle, trailing wisp of peat smoke.
Accolades
Johnnie Walker Blue Label's Lunar New Year series remains one of the most sought-after annual releases among luxury spirits collectors and gift-givers worldwide. The underlying Blue Label liquid routinely receives top honors, including multiple Double Gold Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and high 90+ point ratings across platforms like Distiller and Whisky Advocate. Collectors particularly value the 2027 Year of the Goat edition for its bespoke bottle artwork, which depicts the goat leaping across celestial clouds alongside blooming peonies—symbolizing prosperity, elegance, and peace.
