Product description

This structured and 'approachable' red wine originates from the United States, within the expansive California A.V.A. appellation. Crafted by Josh Cellars the widely acclaimed winery established in 2007 by Joseph Carr as a tribute to his father, Josh this bottling delivers a plush, fruit-forward, and accessible expression of California Pinot Noir. Sourced from choice, cool-climate vineyard sites across key coastal and valley growing regions in California (including the Central Coast and Monterey), the vines thrive in well-draining sandy loam and clay-gravelly soils. The region’s cool maritime breezes and morning fog moderate daytime sunshine, allowing the delicate Pinot Noir grapes to achieve complete phenolic maturity while preserving a bright, mouthwatering natural acidity.

Wine Description

The Josh Cellars Pinot Noir presents a luminous, brilliant ruby color in the glass with bright garnet and magenta reflections along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and fruit-driven, delivering an expressive, supple, and inviting portrait of coastal California Pinot Noir. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of dark cherries, ripe strawberries, and red plums, seamlessly layered with subtle underlays of sweet vanilla bean, toasted oak, crushed herbs, and a faint touch of warm baking spices. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, sleek, and smooth, showcasing a succulent core of bright red stone fruits, blood orange peel, and subtle cocoa. It is characterized by its balanced energy and a soft, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that maintains freshness across the palate. The mouthfeel is broad, silky, and supple, framed by fine-grained, gentle tannins that glide into a smooth, dry, and pleasingly lingering finish accented by notes of cherry skin, cinnamon, and toasted oak.
