Kavalan 15 Years Old 2025 Edition is an ultra premium single malt whisky originating from Yilan County, Taiwan. Crafted at the Kavalan Distillery, which was founded in 2005 by parent company King Car Group, this bottle marks a momentous milestone as the distillery's first ever age-statement whisky. Launched as part of the Time Exploration series, the release is a direct tribute to March 11, 2006, the historic day when the very first drops of new-make spirit trickled from the Kavalan stills and officially commenced Taiwanese whisky production.

Spirit Description

Kavalan 15 Years Old 2025 Edition is made from 100% malted barley and represents rare stock that has endured fifteen years of accelerated maturation inside Taiwan's hot, intensely humid subtropical climate. The defining element of this expression is its complex four-cask maturation strategy. To maximize depth and balance, CEO YT Lee masterfully blended individual small-batch reserves aged in hand-selected ex-bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks, Ruby port barrels, and traditional large puncheons.

• Colour: Golden caramel.

• Aroma: Captivating and multi-layered. The nose opens with a dessert-like profile of caramel apple mousse, fresh chocolate, walnut cinnamon rolls, and creamy popcorn, intricately interwoven with underlying notes of dried tangerine peel and sweet plum.

• Palate: Velvety, lush, and deeply expressive on the entry. Bright citrus flavors of bergamot, lemon, orange, and grapefruit dance alongside sweet dried cranberries, raisins, and tropical longan, before developing into darker layers of dark chocolate gelato and a rich caramel walnut coffee mousse.

• Body: Full-bodied and robust, carrying Kavalan's signature oily creaminess that coats the throat beautifully.

• Finish: Exceptionally long and smooth, trailing off with a comforting warmth of woody cinnamon spice, lingering toffee, and the rich sweetness of black date fruit.

• ABV: Bottled at 43%.
