Product description
Ken Wright Pinot Noir Carter Vineyard originates from the United States, within Oregon's Willamette Valley region and the Eola-Amity Hills AVA subregion. Founded in 1994 by winemaking pioneer Ken Wright, the estate focuses on single-vineyard expressions that showcase the distinct soil and climatic profiles of northern Oregon. Planted in 1983 on shallow, volcanic Jory and Nekia soils with basalt mother rock, Carter Vineyard sits at an elevation of 325 feet facing south-southwest. The site benefits from cool marine breezes entering through the Van Duzer Corridor, producing a darker, highly concentrated, and earth-driven expression of Pinot Noir.
Wine Description
This red wine displays a deep, translucent ruby-garnet colour. The nose is expressive and dark-fruit driven, opening with aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry, cassis, and blueberry, accompanied by floral accents of violets, a hint of vanilla, cola, and subtle sweet baking spices. On the palate, it exhibits a medium to full body with a broad, generous texture supported by firm, moderate tannins and lively, refreshing acidity. Stylistically, the wine delivers a harmonious balance between intense blue and black berry fruit, savory earthiness, and structured tension, leading into a long, polished finish carrying notes of dark cherry and subtle cocoa.
Varietal composition: 100% Pinot Noir
