Product description

Ken Wright Pinot Noir McCrone 2024 originates from the United States, within Oregon's Willamette Valley region and the Yamhill Carlton AVA subregion. Founded in 1994 by winemaking pioneer Ken Wright, the winery focuses on single vineyard bottlings that highlight the distinct soil profiles across northern Oregon. McCrone Vineyard, planted on ancient marine sedimentary soils (Willakenzie series), sits right adjacent to the famous Shea Vineyard and is celebrated for producing Pinot Noir with remarkable structural power, dark fruit intensity, and savory floral complexity.

Wine Description

This red wine displays a translucent, deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. The nose is open and complex, delivering lifted aromas of black cherry, dark plum, and marionberry alongside notes of violet flowers, forest floor, black tea, and warming sweet baking spices. On the palate, it exhibits a medium to full body with a plush, velvety texture, supported by fine grained, firm tannins and balancing, lively acidity. Stylistically, the wine combines dark fruit depth with distinct marine soil minerality, finishing with exceptional length and lingering notes of spice and dark berry compote.
