Product description

KinGlassie Double Matured originates from the Kingdom of Fife in the Lowland region of Scotland. It is produced at the InchDairnie Distillery, an innovative facility founded in 2012 by Ian Palmer under John Fergus & Co. Known for its 'flavour-led' engineering approach, the distillery utilizes a hammer mill and a mash filter rather than a traditional mash tun, and it only distils this heavily peated spirit for one week each year during the winter.

Spirit Description

This heavily peated single malt, measured at approximately 50 ppm, is aged for a total of eight years. It undergoes a double maturation process, spending five years in first fill ex-bourbon American oak casks followed by three years in Amontillado sherry casks from Montilla, Spain. The resulting spirit features an almond brown colour and a medium to full body. The aroma is characterized by 'velvet smoke', tobacco, and rich layers of almonds and nuts. On the palate, it offers a creamy and earthy texture with flavours of honey, oranges, toffee, and chocolate raisins. The finish is long and spicy, marked by a 'char-filled' chewiness and lingering notes of raspberry and peat. It is bottled at 46.3% ABV.

Accolades

KinGlassie Double Matured has quickly gained critical acclaim, notably securing a Gold Medal at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards. The distillery itself has also been recognized for its modern aesthetic and sustainable practices, winning 'Best Bottle Design' at the World Whiskies Awards for its collaboration with the French design house Chic.
