Product description
This fresh and 'Mediterranean' white wine originates from Greece, within the P.G.I. Macedonia appellation of Northern Greece. Kir-Yianni was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris a legendary figure in the Greek wine industry and is currently managed by his son, Stellios Boutaris. The "Paranga" line (meaning the shack in Greek) was named after the nickname affectionately given to the original, modest winery facility in Amyndeon. The estate operates under a philosophy that balances native traditions with an innovative mindset, sourcing grapes from collaborating growers in cool, high-altitude vineyards situated between 600 and 700 metres above sea level where the surrounding regional lakes temper the microclimate.
Wine Description
The Kir-Yianni Paranga White presents a bright, pale lemon appearance in the glass. Its sensory profile is highly expressive and charmingly aromatic, opening with an enticing bouquet of jasmine, honeysuckle, and lemon blossom, layered with vibrant notes of white peach, apricot, green apple, and citrus zest. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied, crisp, and energetic, showcasing an easy-drinking texture with juicy stone-fruit and mandarin orange layers. It is characterized by its outstanding, mountainous freshness and a zesty, mineral-tinged acidity that guides into a clean, well-rounded, and refreshing finish.
This dry white is a classic indigenous blend composed of 80% Roditis and 20% Malagousia. The late-ripening, pink-skinned Roditis variety provides the structural backbone, lemony crispness, and mineral notes, while the Malagousia grape infuses the blend with its signature floral richness and complex fruit profile. The varieties are hand-picked and vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
