Product description

This historic aperitif wine comes from the French island of Corsica, deeply rooted in the distinct maritime terroir of the Cap Corse peninsula. The distinguished house was originally established in 1872 by the local merchant Louis Napoleon Mattei, who invented the unique formula and named it after his native peninsula. The winery remains family owned to this day, carefully executing all macerations, aging, and bottling procedures in house according to original traditions.

Wine Description

This Quinquina Blanc shows a beautiful light golden profile in the glass. The nose delivers a highly unique, expressive citrus aroma anchored by fresh local citron and lemon peel, alongside subtle floral and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, supple, and airy, offering a silky texture driven by an explosion of fresh citrus fruitiness and vibrant lime notes. The body is texturally medium and crisp, leading into a refreshing, slightly acidic finish defined by a long, pleasant dryness and the characteristic bitterness of quinine. This aromatized beverage relies on an all mistelle foundation made entirely from regional Vermentinu and Muscat Petit Grains grapes, which inject superb minerality, acidity, and floral tones into the blend. This base is then infused with local Corsican citron fruit, quinine bark, and a selection of local and exotic plants, fruits, and spices. The alcohol by volume for this bottling sits at 17%.
