Product description

Originating from France in the southern Rhône Valley region, specifically within the 'Côtes du Rhône' appellation, La Fiole Côtes du Rhône represents an iconically packaged, supple, and spicy expression of classic southern French red. Crafted by Maison Père Anselme (Maison Brotte) since 1952, La Fiole is globally recognized by its distinctive, twisted sand-blasted bottle shape designed to evoke the gnarled growth of old vines. Sourced from choice clay and limestone vineyards across the Rhône Valley, the winemaking philosophy combines multi-vintage reserve blending, traditional concrete vat fermentation, and partial aging in large neutral oak vats. The result is a harmonious cuvée celebrated for its seamless consistency, rich dark fruit, and signature Mediterranean garrigue spice.

Wine Description

The wine presents a deep, clear ruby red colour with soft garnet highlights along the rim. An expressive, fruit-driven bouquet opens with rich aromas of ripe black cherry, wild blackberry, black plum, and crushed red currant, interwoven with warm notes of dried lavender, rosemary, black pepper, cocoa, and sweet garrigue spices. On the palate, it is medium-to-full bodied, smooth, and rounded, delivering generous flavours of dark berries, red fruit curd, and earthy spice, all anchored by a gentle, mouthwatering spine of natural acidity. Framed by soft, fine-grained tannins and a supple mid-palate, it concludes with a warm, persistent finish marked by lingering red berry fruit, savory herbs, and subtle toasted oak. Composed of a classic southern Rhône blend dominated by Grenache and Syrah, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 3–5 years from release. Stylistically, it combines approachable fruit warmth with authentic Rhône spice and effortless drinkability.
