Product description
This structured and 'crystalline' red wine originates from Italy, within the esteemed Nebbiolo d'Alba D.O.C. appellation of Piedmont's Langhe and Roero regions. Crafted under the La Pranda label, this cuvée represents an authentic, high-toned expression of Nebbiolo grown on the sandy, limestone-rich soils flanking both sides of the Tanaro River. The vines benefit from a temperate continental climate characterized by warm daytime temperatures and cool autumn evening breezes descending from the Alps. This distinct diurnal shift allows the late-ripening Nebbiolo grapes to achieve complete phenolic maturity while preserving bright, mouthwatering natural acidity and delicate floral aromatics.
Wine Description
La Pranda Nebbiolo d'Alba presents a bright, translucent garnet-ruby color in the glass with light orange shimmers at the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and expressive, delivering a classic and approachable portrait of Piedmont's noble grape. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of fresh wild strawberries, tart cherries, and crushed cranberries, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of dried rose petals, orange peel, anise, crushed limestone, and a subtle trace of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a vibrant core of red fruits, pomegranate seeds, and white pepper. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that illuminates the mid-palate. The mouthfeel is energetic and linear, framed by fine-grained, youthful Nebbiolo tannins that carry into a clean, dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by notes of dried herbs and wild flowers.
