Produced at the Torre de Oña estate, which is owned by the renowned La Rioja Alta S.A. group, Finca Martelo represents a modern, terroir-driven expression of historic 60+-year-old vines grown at high altitude. The winemaking philosophy focuses on capturing site specificity through plot-by-plot selection, initial cold maceration, and aging in a combination of American and French oak barrels to balance vibrant fruit freshness with structured elegance.

Wine Description

This wine displays an intense ruby red color with dark garnet highlights. On the nose, it opens with an expressive bouquet of fresh dark cherry, ripe plum, and red berries, interwoven with notes of sweet vanilla, cocoa, clove, dried herbs, and subtle balsamic undertones. On the palate, it exhibits a medium to full body with a silky, balanced texture, supported by fine, chalky tannins and vibrant natural acidity. The finish is long, complex, and persistent with lingering dark fruit, spice, and mineral notes. The varietal composition is a traditional field blend featuring 95% Tempranillo complemented by 5% Mazuelo, Garnacha, and Viura. It has an alcohol content of 14.5% ABV and is not certified organic.
