Tough, fibrous, dry and rough on the surface. Lamparillo is a wild variety of agave. Asperrima grows specifically in arid conditions. Its name translates to "rough," which is befitting considering it thrives in the driest parts of the Nombre de Dios and the Cuencame dessert.
