Product description
Langmeil Winery has a rich history dating back to 1842, and the Lindner family, who took over the neglected property in 1996, now runs the operations. The winery is celebrated for preserving some of the world’s oldest surviving Shiraz vines, and their winemaking philosophy blends time-honoured techniques with modern methods, focusing on minimal intervention to showcase the unique terroir of the Barossa. Old Barossa vignerons referred to their vineyards as 'gardens', inspiring the name for this blend.
Wine Description
The nose reveals notes of blueberries, black cherries, blackberries, plums, and mulberries, complemented by hints of smoked meats, vanilla, and oriental spices from 12 months of ageing in French and American oak barrels. On the palate, the wine has an incredibly dense and velvety texture. It offers ripe red and dark fruits like forest-berry jam, raspberries, and blueberries, balanced by pepper, white spice, and clove, with a touch of a floral edge.
Food Pairing
Suggested pairings include braised chicken in red wine, vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, goose breast with ginger red cabbage, or rich tomato pasta dishes.
