Product description
This single malt Scotch whisky originates from Scotland, produced in the Islay region. Crafted at the historic Laphroaig Distillery on the southern coast of Islay, the annual "Càirdeas" release (Gaelic for "friendship") is created specially for the Friends of Laphroaig community by the distillery's master team. Each annual iteration explores unique cask finishes, maturations, or blending techniques, showcasing Laphroaig's signature heavily peated maritime malt through a distinct maturation lens.
Spirit Description
This single malt presents a warm amber to deep gold hue in the glass. The nose is bold, aromatic, and smoky, opening with signature Laphroaig aromas of medicinal peat smoke, iodine, smoldering campfire, and salty sea spray, complemented by rich fruit nuances, toasted oak, and sweet vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and oily, delivering a powerful punch of medicinal peat, medicinal ash, and seaweed, balanced by sweet fruit compote, warm oak spice, and subtle coastal brine. The finish is long, warming, and drying, leaving a lingering impression of lingering peat smoke, charred wood, and maritime sea salt. Bottled at a higher strength or cask strength without chill-filtration, it offers an uncompromised, intense, and deeply expressive Islay character.
