Le Haut-Medoc de Lagrange is the third wine from the famed producer Chateau Lagrange. Situated in the Saint-Julien appellation, this winery is one of fourteen Troisiemes Crus (Third Growths) of Bordeaux. Looking to expand their holdings, the owners of the estate decided to purchase a vineyard in the neighbouring village of Saint-Laurent de Médoc. Located within the Haut-Medoc appellation, the vines sit on a hill with a westward slope and gravelly soil. Once harvested, the grapes are brought to the winery in Saint-Julien. The blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot is aged in 100% French oak barrels.
Ruby red in colour, full-bodied with fine tannins, this wine has classic notes of red currants, black cherries, licorice, pencil shavings, and menthol. This wine offers the quality of a Troisiemes Crus for the price of a Cru Bourgeois and will age gracefully for the next 5 to 10 years.
