Product description
Château Lagrange, a classified Third Growth in the 1855 Médoc classification, is situated in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation. Owned since 1983 by the Japanese Suntory group, the estate has undergone extensive vineyard renovation and modernisation in the cellar. Le Haut Médoc de Lagrange is the estate's third wine, sourced from selected plots in the Haut-Médoc and crafted with the same care and philosophy as the Grand Vin.
The 2016 vintage displays a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights. Aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, and subtle violet notes mingle with hints of cedar and sweet spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with firm tannins and a refined structure, showcasing dark fruit, graphite, and a mineral edge. The wine finishes with impressive length and freshness. The blend is typically dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot. Enjoyable now, it will continue to evolve gracefully through 2028.
Food Pairing:
This elegant red pairs well with grilled lamb chops, beef stew, or a mushroom risotto. A perfect match to enhance the wine's complexity.
