Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the highly regarded second wine of Château Lagrange, a historic Third Growth estate situated in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux's Left Bank. First created in 1983, Les Fiefs de Lagrange is crafted from vines averaging 30 years of age with the exact same meticulous technical discipline as the estate’s Grand Vin. The winemaking philosophy centers on precision viticulture and expressing the distinct gravel-rich terroirs of Saint-Julien, resulting in a refined wine designed to offer estate pedigree with earlier accessibility.

Wine Description

The 2019 Les Fiefs de Lagrange displays a deep ruby color with youthful purple reflections. The nose is clean and focused, opening with expressive aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dark cherries, and red plums, beautifully layered with notes of cedar, graphite, sandalwood, and sweet spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, supple, and exceptionally harmonious, offering a creamy, smooth texture balanced by a refreshing mineral acidity. Polished, fine-grained tannins structure the dark fruit and savory undertones, leading to a long, clean, and elegant finish.

This vintage is a classic Left Bank blend composed of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. It was matured for 13 months in French oak barrels (20% new). Already drinking beautifully now, it possesses the structural integrity to cellar gracefully through 2040.
